What do I do if I’ve lost access to my account?Updated 6 months ago

Due to the decentralized nature of this Web3 project, if you lose access to your account or wallet, we unfortunately can't help restore it. This means that your account can't be deleted, and if you get a new device, your old vehicle will remain paired with the old device. 

Please make sure to save your secret key securely — we're not responsible for lost accounts.

That said, our ability to assist with Web3 issues is limited. Once you sign a transaction, you own it, and we cannot forcibly unpair your VIN from the blockchain. This is similar to how MetaMask can't recover your wallet if you lose access.

In short, losing access to your account means losing access to anything paired with it on the blockchain. If you didn’t unpair your device before deleting your vehicle, the VIN will remain paired.
