Why don’t older cars work if they have an OBD2 port?Updated 6 months ago

As modern cars have greater telemetry available, there is a larger volume of data to collect. With this larger volume, the value of the data increases.

Additionally, every car has data encoded differently. This means that the OBD2 Port doesn’t work the same way on every vehicle and each model has to be decoded separately.
