How To Transfer My Assets To A Different Account / Wallet?Updated 3 months ago

Transferring your DIMO device, connected vehicle, or both to a new account is a straightforward and secure process that can be easily completed via the DIMO Buddy platform, ensuring a seamless ownership transition.


🚨 Please ensure you have the following to proceed:

  • Your current wallet address and the secret phrase or keywords linked to it.
  • The recipient's wallet address or your new wallet address.
  • Polygon Matic tokens to cover transaction fees.


To ensure a smooth transition, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Access DIMO Buddy

Step 2: Connect to Your Wallet

  • Click on "login" in the top right corner.   

Step 3: Scan the QR Code

  • Scan the QR code displayed on DIMO Buddy using the wallet that owns the assets you want to transfer.

 Step 4: Access The Correct Tab

  • To transfer only the device: Access the "Devices" tab
  • To transfer only the vehicle: Access the "Vehicles" tab 
  • To transfer both the vehicle and the devices: Access the "Devices" tab 

Once connected, select the proper tab in the top left corner of the screen to initiate the transfer process.

Step 5: Manage Your Asset

  • Locate the specific vehicle or device you wish to transfer to the new account and click on "More."

Step 6: Click the Transfer Text

  • Enter the wallet address of the new account where you want to transfer your vehicle and device.

Step 7: Initiate Transfer

After entering the new wallet address, click on:

  • "Send Device Only" to initiate the transfer of the device.
  • "Send Vehicle ID Only" to initiate the transfer of the vehicle.
  • "Send Vehicle ID & Device"to initiate the transfer of both the vehicle and the device.
    • ⚠ This is the one you should click if you have been compromised.

Step 8: Confirm Transaction

  • Confirm the transaction within your wallet, and ensure that you have a sufficient amount of Matic tokens in your account to cover the transaction fees.

Step 9: Completion

  • After confirming the transaction, refresh the DIMO Buddy website. 


Congratulations, your vehicle and device have been successfully transferred to the new owner's account.
