Connect with a Hardware Device:To deliver on the Progressive Decentralization plan for the project, Digital Infrastructure Inc.&#xA0;(the first company building on DIMO) is working with AutoPi, a distributed team of hardware engineers, and the DIMO Foundation to establish a process for funding,&#xA0;certifying, and integrating new hardware devices.&#xA0;DIMO will publish a certification process for new hardware devices as additional data markets are created,&#xA0;borrowing from and improving upon the model developed&#xA0;<a href="https://github.com/helium/HIP/blob/master/0019-third-party-manufacturers.md" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">by Helium</a>.The reference design will be available to any 3rd party hardware device makers who wish to add additional features (like dash cams or other sensors) and/or produce their own devices capable of mining $DIMO by providing data.&#xA0;Existing open-source hardware options like&#xA0;<a href="https://comma.ai/compare" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Comma.Ai</a>,&#xA0;<a href="http://www.jwardell.com/canserver/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">CanServer</a>, and others will be able to integrate with DIMO after a software or firmware update, and more secure versions of those devices can be produced over time.Goals &#xA0;Build a diverse ecosystem of hardware providers (OEMs), retail/distributors, and support channels which give users the best options for taking control of their mobility data, while ensuring support for future DIMO platform features like ADAS (automated driving) and video data collection. &#xA0;DIMO solves problems for both sides of the market.&#xA0;Hardware manufacturer problems: Standardized device management software &amp; API; and distribution and supply chain support and finance&#xA0;User problems: Device certification; and performance tracking.&#xA0;Software &#xA0;&#xA0;DIMO also offers connectivity support for most drivers in supported regions who have a connected vehicle subscription. Support for Teslas is natively supported through a direct integration with the Tesla API. The First DIMO-Compatible Hardware&#xA0;To purchase a device, check out &#xA0;<a href="https://shop.dimo.zone/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">shop.dimo.zone</a>DIMO is seeding an independent hardware ecosystem by partnering with Autopi to produce a plug &amp; play, fully integrated ARM-based open hardware product that can plug into any car made after 1988. This device will communicate with the vehicle message bus, called the CAN-BUS and extract signals information sent by the car, as well as sign it to provide authenticity to the data by signing it using the included Ethereum wallet.&#xA0;<img src="https://uploads.gorgias.io/r1WE86rbjRe6J4Mv/undefined-85f7ba45-35cc-4679-a67f-8d4fadfc2fd8" style="width: 832px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">DIMO x AutoPi co-branded OBDII device and its key features Users will be able to add this hardware to their vehicle as either a primary (and only) data collection option, or layer it onto existing API connectivity options provided by the OEM.Anti-Spoofing &amp; Secure Hardware Element:To guarantee the security and authenticity of the device data being sent over the network, the data is signed by an Ethereum (or similar) wallet using secp256k1 ECDSA signing and verification. The data will be validated on receipt and checked against historical data from the device, and other meta-information contained in the payload.&#xA0;DIMO x AutoPi miners Leverage a secure element in the hardware used to collect the data directly from vehicles. The TEE environment provided by <a href="https://www.arm.com/why-arm/technologies/trustzone-for-cortex-a/tee-reference-documentation" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">modern arm processors</a> will be used to protect against spoofing and provide a future proof location for executing transactions on the device itself as the vehicle becomes a larger compute platform that can execute Solidity code locally on the device.

Wallet Issues&#xA0;Mismatched connected wallet&#xA0;This means that you have connected a wallet to the DIMO app before, and the one you are trying to use for pairing is not that wallet. Your options are:&#xA0;<ol><li>Switch to the originally connected wallet. The app shows you in the orange box the &quot;Registered Wallet.&quot;&#xA0;</li><li>Contact <a data-fr-linked="true" href="mailto:support@dimo.zone">support@dimo.zone</a> to switch the connected wallet you have.</li></ol><img src="https://uploads.gorgias.io/r1WE86rbjRe6J4Mv/undefined-c2747646-adc3-4b68-ac40-2a0229a7c4d6" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dii">Registered wallet in the DIMO App.<img src="https://uploads.gorgias.io/r1WE86rbjRe6J4Mv/undefined-719b43a9-df53-49c4-8974-3131b482ffe3" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dii">Mismatched&#xA0;wallet user is attempting to connect.Stuck claiming AutoPi ID, Vehicle ID, or Pairing&#xA0;If you get stuck on this step or any steps that involve transfers or links, you are probably using an external MetaMask wallet to sign txs, and that wallet has timed out.&#xA0;MetaMask autolock is usually set to 30 seconds, so it will close during the process. You can set it to longer so that it does not close when connecting to DIMO.Inside of MetaMask, go to Settings &gt;Security &amp; Privacy &gt; Auto-lock&#xA0;Other issues could be:&#xA0;<ul><li>Ensure you are not connected to a VPN. If so, turn it off. If you&apos;re having trouble setting up Bluetooth pairing with your AutoPi, follow these diagnostic steps:<ol><li>Ensure that you&apos;ve plugged your AutoPi device into the OBD2 port and have waited at least 30 seconds for it to fully power on. Check that you see a solid blue light and a blinking green light.</li><li>Launch the DIMO mobile app, log in to your account, and navigate to the home screen. If you&apos;ve already added a vehicle, you should see it listed. Look for an orange banner asking you to complete the pairing process.</li><li>Ensure that you&apos;ve successfully completed all wallet-connect sessions and have advanced to the Bluetooth pairing steps.</li></ol>If the device is already paired:<ol><li>If you&apos;ve previously connected to the DIMO device during pairing but had to restart the process and now your app can&apos;t find the DIMO device, go to your phone&apos;s Bluetooth settings and forget the device.</li><li>Return to the DIMO app and retry pairing.</li></ol>If Bluetooth devices are found but AutoPi is not:Do not leave the Bluetooth pairing screen on the DIMO mobile app. Instead, unplug the device, wait for it to fully boot (30 seconds with a solid blue light and flashing green light), then hit the retry button in the DIMO app.If no Bluetooth devices are found:<ol><li>On an iPhone, go to your phone&apos;s settings, scroll down or search for the DIMO Mobile app, click on it, and verify that Bluetooth permissions are enabled.</li><li>On an Android, go to your phone&apos;s settings, scroll down to apps, search for the DIMO Mobile app, click on it, and verify that Bluetooth permissions are enabled.</li><li>If you still can&apos;t find the AutoPi after enabling Bluetooth in your app settings, download a Bluetooth Low Energy scanner app on your phone to see if the AutoPi can be found.</li><li>If you&apos;re still unsuccessful, contact support and email us your barcode at <a data-fr-linked="true" href="mailto:support@dimo.zone">support@dimo.zone</a> for further troubleshooting.</li></ol>

If it&apos;s blinking, you won&apos;t be able to connect.</li><li id="isPasted">Try power cycling the device by unplugging it and plugging it back into your vehicle. This often resolves the issue. Once it&apos;s plugged back in, wait for the green light to stay solid, take a short drive in an area with good cell reception, and check if the last update date has changed.</li><li id="isPasted">Use a pin to remove the sim card from your DIMO device and insert it into your phone to check if it receives cell reception. After that, put it back into the DIMO device and confirm if the green light is now solid and if the device is updating correctly. Don&apos;t forget to take a short drive in an area with good cell reception.</li><li id="isPasted">If none of the above steps work, you can try connecting through Wi-Fi.
