If you&apos;re having trouble setting up Bluetooth pairing with your device, follow these diagnostic steps:Step 1: Ensure that you&apos;ve plugged your device into the OBD2 port and have waited at least 30 seconds for it to fully power on. Check that you see:<ul><li>For AutoPi devices: A solid blue light and a blinking green light.</li><li>For Macaron devices: A solid green light and flashing blue light.</li></ul>Step 2: Launch the DIMO mobile app, log in to your account, and navigate to the home screen. If you&apos;ve already added a vehicle, you should see it listed. Then, select &#x201C;Tap to finish onboarding&#x201D;.Step 3: Ensure that you&apos;ve wallet-connect steps (see our Connecting Your Wallet to DIMO Mobile article) and have advanced to the Bluetooth pairing steps. If the device is already paired:Step 1: If you&apos;ve previously connected to the DIMO device during pairing but had to restart the process and now your app can&apos;t find the DIMO device, go to your phone&apos;s Bluetooth settings and &#x201C;forget&#x201D; the device.Step 2: Return to the DIMO app and retry pairing. If Bluetooth devices are found but AutoPi/Macaron is not:Do not leave the Bluetooth pairing screen on the DIMO mobile app. Instead, unplug the device, wait for it to fully boot. You will see:<ul><li>For AutoPi devices: A solid blue light and flashing green light for 30 seconds.</li><li>For Macaron devices: A solid green light and flashing blue light.</li></ul>Once the device has fully booted, hit the retry button in the DIMO app. If no Bluetooth devices are found:Step 1.1: On an iPhone, go to your phone&apos;s settings, scroll down or search for the DIMO Mobile app, click on it, and verify that Bluetooth permissions are enabled.Step 1.2: On an Android, go to your phone&apos;s settings, scroll down to apps, search for the DIMO Mobile app, click on it, and verify that Bluetooth permissions are enabled.Step 2: If you still can&apos;t find the device after enabling Bluetooth in your app settings:<ul><li>For AutoPi devices: Download a Bluetooth Low Energy scanner app (such as Bluetooth Low Energy Ready/BLE) on your phone to see if the device can be found.</li><li>For Macaron devices: Enable Bluetooth pairing mode on your Macaron device by pressing the button on the device, holding for 4 seconds, then letting go.</li></ul>Step 3: If you&apos;re still unsuccessful, contact support and email us your barcode at <a data-fr-linked="true" href="mailto:support@dimo.co">support@dimo.co</a> for further troubleshooting. For the AutoPi device:&#xA0;If you are prompted to enter a PIN when pairing your Android device with your car, follow these steps:Step 1: Start your car and let it run for 5 minutes before turning it off. This will allow your DIMO device to download a small update from the cloud. As long as the device comes online and shows a solid green light, the update should be successful.Step 2: Wait for about 10 minutes to let the device go to sleep before attempting to pair it with your phone.Step 3: The device is now configured to verbally speak the PIN code when prompted by your phone. It will repeat the code three times out loud. Simply type it in and click &quot;pair.&quot; An example of this can be seen here.

Bluetooth Pairing Guide

&#x1F6A8; This guide is for users who have a check engine light on their vehicle dashboard.&#x26A0; This feature is only available for cars connected via DIMO hardware device. Based on Bluetooth limitations, AutoPi 5.2 devices cannot use this feature. &#xA0;Note: reading error codes does not work on vehicles shared with you. You must be the owner of the Vehicle ID (in your wallet) in order to read error codes using a DIMO hardware device. Getting Started<ul><li>Get in your vehicle&apos;s driver seat.</li><li>Have your phone with DIMO Mobile ready.</li><li>Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.</li><li>Make sure your DIMO hardware device is plugged in and ready to connect to Bluetooth.</li><li>Start with your engine off.</li></ul> Step 1: Set up<ul><li>Open DIMO Mobile on your phone.</li><li>Ensure you have the correct vehicle selected. If you need to switch vehicles, click the &#xA0;menu on the top left of your screen.</li><li>Scroll down and select the error codes tile. The tile is among your vehicle signals.</li><li>If you have never used this feature before, you will have no historical scans.</li></ul> Step 2: Starting the engine &amp; enabling accessory mode<ul><li>With your engine off, tap to start a scan.</li><li>Start your engine when the app prompts you.</li><li>Bring your car into accessory mode when the app prompts you. Accessory mode can be reached by turning your keys backwards one click from your engine being on. If you have a &#x201C;Push to Start&#x201D; car, push the button to turn the engine off without opening any doors.</li></ul>Do not drive your vehicle while attempting to read your error codes. Step 3: Establishing a Bluetooth connection<ul><li>Your phone will ask you to enable Bluetooth. Please do so, as the hardware device will communicate the data back to you through this connection.</li><li>Watch the screen for an additional Bluetooth prompt. After about 30 seconds, the prompt will present itself. Please click connect when you see this.</li><li>After enabling the Bluetooth connection both times listed above, your scan will commence. The full scan may take around 3 minutes.</li></ul>If a Bluetooth connection is unable to be established, please restart this guide from Step 2, including turning your vehicle&apos;s engine completely off. The DIMO hardware device has a short Bluetooth bonding time in order to not drain the car&#x2019;s battery. Turning your car off and back on again will wake up the device. Step 4: Making sense of your codes<ul><li>After a scan of error codes, feel free to explore what codes were read and what they mean.</li><li>If applicable, try using a marketplace partner to fix your issue.</li><li>If you wish to see previous scans, you will be able to go back and look at historical scans. Utilize this when your mechanic asks for previous issues with your vehicle.</li><li>If you are interested in clearing your error codes, go ahead and click &quot;clear codes.&quot;</li></ul>Clearing your error codes from the dashboard will only last during your current drive. When your vehicle turns off and on again, your vehicle&apos;s computer will reset and throw the codes again.Pro tip: If you&apos;re a Vehicle Genius subscriber you can simply text your Error Codes to a Genius and they&apos;ll find you the right fix at the best price.

If you are stuck on the Bluetooth connection process, follow this guide to resolve the issue: Step 1: Unplug your AutoPi or Macaron device from your vehicle.&#xA0;Step 2: Disconnect your phone from the device completely. First, turn Bluetooth off on your phone, then in your phones&#x2019; Bluetooth settings, &#x201C;forget&#x201D; or &#x201C;unpair&#x201D; your AutoPi or Macaron device.&#xA0;Step 3: Turn your phone&#x2019;s Bluetooth connection back on. Make sure location permissions are enabled, too.&#xA0;Step 4: Plug your AutoPi or Macaron device back into your vehicle. Turn your vehicle on and start your engine.&#xA0;<ul><li>For AutoPi devices: The blue light should be solid if it is ready to pair.&#xA0;</li><li>For Macaron devices: The blue light should be flashing if it is ready to pair. </li></ul>Step 5: Connect your phone to your DIMO device. Open the DIMO app and go through the Connect your Vehicle steps.&#xA0;<ul><li>For Macaron devices: If you can&#x2019;t find your Macaron device on your phone, you may need to activate Bluetooth pairing mode by pressing and holding the button on the device for 4 seconds, then releasing. </li></ul> If you need further assistance, we&#x2019;re here to help!
